Democrats Don’t Especially Like America

From the Gallup Organization, the results of a question that asked “How proud are you to be an America extremely proud, very proud, moderately proud, or not proud at all?” Gallup then tabulated the percentages in each group who said “extremely proud.” The results are presented below:

Democrats are 21% less likely to feel “extremely proud” than are Republicans. Gallup did not provide tabulations for liberals and conservatives, but had they done so, the cleavage would doubtless have been wider.

So why are Democrats less patriotic? They would insist they are most sensitive to the social injustice that they consider an endemic part of American life. This is just a rationalization. What liberal Democrats don’t like about America is that they have less power than they think they should. Being elitists, they are resentful that ordinary Americans — people who oppose abortion, gay marriage, gun control and so on — contest with them for power, and on a much more equal basis than they would like.

The classic statement of this elitism came from Barack Obama, who said:
You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. . . . And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.
Yes, these bitter clingers have too much power.

I'm so proud of being an American.
I'm so proud of Abu Gharib - where we tortured or did horrid things to Iraquis.
I'm so proud of Guantamo - of the 150 who are actually innocent but we are holding - torturing by forcefeeding if need be.
I'm so proud of Waterboarding and Stress Positions and the other things which aren't torture which caused their victims to say Saddam was linked with Al Queda, had WMDs, was responsible for the Lindburg Baby's death and the Hindenburg so we would invade, destroy, and leave Christians vulnerable so as to be slaughtered.
I'm so proud of our Federal Reserve and QE working hard to prevent a reset no matter how much fraud it requires.
I'm so proud of McConnel and Bonior working with Obama to prevent the boat from rocking.
I'm so proud that we can abandon our veterans and let them die or commit suicide so we can divert money from the VA to something far more worthy of funding.
I'm so proud that the NSA reads everything I write, post, send even though they never prevented one terrorist attack.
I'm so proud that we have discarded the dead letter of the constitution in favor of security.
I'm so proud that we have gone beyond Stalin's Russia with it's GRU and KGB and destroys whistleblowers, tortures, keeps abortion legal, now Gay Marriage, Obamacare and the rest and America is willing to show the Middle finger to God and shout at him "God is dead - you won't do anything - You don't care - you won't judge us!".
I'm so proud of the hundred other things which destroy the constitution, which would have made Stalin or Mao blush, but which the GOP and their minions are totally proud of.

Pride. Hubris. Whom the gods would destroy.

I am so proud of America which:
1. Put down the genocidal Nazi horror and the like criminals of Imperial Japan;
2. Has (Usually GOP members or members of conservative Christian Churches) who give more to the poor, AS PRIVATE PERSONS, than to those in other nations---With "no strings attached";;
3. Has, as a nation, done the same;
4. Has not (Yest) dispatched police/soldiers to my home as to my pointing out President Jefferson's prescriptions as to using deadly (Gun) force to control tyrants (APPARENTLY NSA IS NOT NOTING THOSE COMMENTS!);
5. Is, more-and-more, allowing the People to keep and bear arms concurrent with an overall reduction in violent crime AND, perhaps in the Future, to reduce tyranny in the USA (NSA PLEASE NOTE!).
