So, if calling someone a bigot makes the speaker "the real bigot," does that mean that your calling the protestors bigots makes you the real bigot?

Really? So a bigot who never screams is less of a bigot than one who screams? Why does the fact that you don't scream it but rather write it on your blog make a difference relevant to the extent of the bigotry?

p.s.
If it actually were the case that a person was a flaming bigot, would someone's yelling "bigot" at them make them (the yeller) "the real bigot"? And would it somehow magically result in the original bigot being not so bigoted?

Does this work for other sorts of critical remarks. Would my yelling that someone is racist or selfish or poorly dressed mean that it is actually ME who is racist or selfish or poorly dressed?

I'm just completely baffled by your position here.

Yes, people who scream ugly words at other people are more bigoted than those who don't.

Oh, John. Last year you announced that you would not post my comment because I had used the word "bigot" to describe your position toward gays. And then you fell into a rant, claiming you were being derided and demeaned because of your religious beliefs. You became a victim of sorts. It was never really clear how you could be derided and demeaned by one of your own, a practicing Catholic, MU grad. Fast forward a mere year and you're back, calling people bigots, e.g., "easy to see who the real
bigots are." Oh, John. It's just sooo sad.

I'm calling people bigots not because they disagree with me on public policy issues, but because they shout "bigot" in other people's faces.

It was never really clear how you could be derided and demeaned by one of your own, a practicing Catholic, MU grad.

I don't follow your argument at all. There are plenty of intolerant, politically correct MU grads and "practicing Catholics."

Those who call other people "bigots" because of different public policy opinions are such.

If you shouted something like that, you would at least be uncivil, and maybe a bigot (for example, of you yelled "racist" at somebody who simply opposed affirmative action).

So you are calling people bigots who agree with the Catholic Church's position on gay marriage?

Don't you think you ought to be a bit more tolerant of differences of opinion?
